“Consultant Hospitality” is considering providing a tourist training program for citizen students


Yesterday, the Hospitality Consultative Council held its first meeting chaired by the Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Emirates Tourism Council, Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, and the membership of 16 presidents and executives of a group of national and international tourist hotels.

The Council discussed new mechanisms to enhance the growth of the hospitality sector in the country, during the current year, and to enhance its attractiveness to local and international visitors, as well as local and foreign tourism investments, in addition to providing a training tourism program to provide job opportunities for young people in this vital sector.

Al -Marri affirmed that the council will continue its vital role in developing the hospitality sector depending on the best practices used globally, and contributing to supporting the achievement of the “National Tourism Strategy 2031”, by launching more various initiatives and tourism projects.

He said during the meeting: “The hospitality sector in the country is witnessing continuous growth, as the total number of guests of hotel establishments in the seven Emirates reached during the first 10 months of 2024, to about 24.9 million inmates, with a growth rate of 9.5% compared to the same period in 2023.”

He added: “The total number of hotel nights during the same period reached 85 million nights, with a growth rate of 8%, compared to the same period in 2023, while the total number of hotel establishments in the country reached about 1246 facilities by the end of October 2024, achieving 2% growth The first 10 months of 2023 ».

The meeting of the Hospitality Consultative Council witnessed the discussion of an innovative tourist initiatives, which the UAE can provide during its participation as a guest in the work of the “Group of Twenty” for the year 2025, which will be held in South Africa, and these initiatives are based on enhancing tourism sustainability and reducing carbon emissions, as well as Settlement of technology and advanced technologies in the sectors and tourism activities.

The Council touched on a set of marketing ideas to support the promotion of the “Great Tourist Paths” project, aiming to unify the experience of traveling in the Emirat of the Seven State, highlighting the cultural diversity of visitors, and encouraging them to explore the tourist destinations and attractions in the country.

He also discussed the possibility of providing a new tourism training program, which is “summer hospitality camps”, which aims to enhance resettlement, involve young people in the country’s tourism professions, develop local workforce skills in the fields and activities of the hospitality sector, provide them with the necessary practical experiences, and raise awareness of the importance of tourism contribution Emirati in enhancing the growth of the national economy, pointing out that the program will be available to students from the age of 16 years and over.
