On Sunday afternoon, the body of the Emirati sports deceased, Abdullah Saqr, who passed away yesterday at the age of 73.
The late deceased took over the youth club with its old name, and also took over the Hatta Club.
Abdullah Saqr worked as an assistant coach within the squad of the technical team of the national team, in the Arab Gulf Cup «1982, 1984, 1988 and 1993».
He also supervised the training of “Al -Abyad” in 2001, and led him in the Asian qualifiers for the “World Cup 2002”.
The late deceased loved to work in the youth and youth sectors in the youth club, as the star maker called him, after he discovered a number of football stars and presented them to the youth club, led by Issa Mohamed, Issa Obaid, Adel Darwish, David Ali, Walid Abbas, Issam Dahi and other prominent names that managed to win the league title, in 2007-2008.
The “Abdullah Saqr Academy” also established to discover the buds and young people, starting from its headquarters at the Al -Shabab Club, to its current headquarters in the Mirdif suburb in Dubai.
Abdullah Saqr has a rich literary experience, where he wrote a set of stories and poems, most notably “a miserable life” and “expatriation in a stolen time”, and several poems were published for him in the Kuwaiti Vanguard Journal, in 1970.
The late deceased stopped writing for about four decades, after he was busy with the football world, before returning again to authorship in 2021, and he published his famous book “Dark Cut from the night”, and presented it at a ceremony organized by the cultural salon in Dubai, and many people interested in this field praised him.
