DEWA launches the 6th batch of the Pioneering Leaders Preparation Program

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government to train DEWA’s Emirati employees on leadership skills as part of the sixth batch of the Pioneering Leaders Preparation Programme launched by DEWA. The programme aims to train and qualify Emirati cadres, prepare leaders in the field of sustainability, clean and renewable energy, and assume responsibility in various jobs, thus enhancing the fourth generation of the government excellence system and contributing to achieving national goals and plans.

The agreement was signed by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, CEO of Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government, in the presence of a number of officials from both sides.

A statement issued yesterday said that the sixth batch of the program will participate in a series of specialized virtual workshops, seminars and educational programs that will last for 10 months. The program focuses on various areas, including developmental guidance, assessment and enhancement of career growth for senior administrators, improving performance and enhancing institutional effectiveness, honing flexible and adaptable leadership skills, enhancing strategic thinking, in addition to stimulating the adoption of innovation and keeping pace with changes.

The program revolves around three axes: self-development, team development, and institutional development. These axes include nine models to ensure the development of leadership skills, most notably communication skills, creative thinking to face challenges, encouraging effective teamwork, and stress management, in addition to understanding the institution’s vision and mission, digitization and future foresight, strategic leadership, and achieving institutional goals.
