Dubai Chamber launches Ghana trade mission, holds 276 bilateral business meetings

Dubai trade mission to Ghana secures 276 bilateral meetings as Dubai-Ghana non-oil trade hits AED 39.6bn

Dubai trade mission to Ghana held 276 business meetings, boosting ties as non-oil trade reached AED 39.6bn and 225 Ghanaian firms were registered in Dubai by Mar 2026

The Dubai trade mission to Ghana opened its first leg in Accra with a concentrated programme of 276 bilateral business meetings designed to deepen commercial ties between Emirati companies and Ghanaian partners. The initiative, led by the Dubai Chamber under the “New Horizons for External Expansion” programme, brought together 19 Dubai-based firms across strategic sectors. Officials described the mission as a targeted push to translate recent trade growth into tangible investment and joint-venture opportunities.

Record of meetings in Accra

The Accra stop produced 276 one-to-one meetings between Dubai firms and Ghanaian counterparts, according to organisers. Sessions covered sourcing, distribution, joint manufacturing and project partnerships, with one-on-one schedules organised to match sectoral priorities. The chamber said the format aimed to accelerate deal-making and reduce market-entry friction for Dubai companies.

Diverse Dubai sectors represented

Participating companies from Dubai covered a wide cross-section of the economy, including automotive, construction materials, electronics and engineering. Delegates also represented fast-moving consumer goods, food and beverage, interior design, mining, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, printing, packaging and textiles. Organisers said the sector mix reflected both Dubai’s export strengths and Ghana’s market demand profile.

Trade growth between Dubai and Ghana

Trade data highlighted during the mission showed non-oil trade between Dubai and Ghana reached AED 39.6 billion in 2025, marking a 60.1 percent year‑on‑year increase. Organisers used the figure to underline Ghana’s rapid emergence as a market of interest for Emirati exporters and investors. The chamber positioned the mission as part of a broader effort to sustain and build on that momentum.

Expansion of Ghanaian corporate presence in Dubai

Dubai’s commercial registry recorded an uptick in Ghanaian companies establishing ties in the emirate, with 16 new Ghanaian firms joining the Dubai Chamber in the first quarter of 2026. That brought the total number of active Ghanaian-registered companies in the chamber to 225 by March 31, 2026. Chamber officials said the registrations signal rising confidence among Ghanaian entrepreneurs in Dubai as a regional business hub.

Officials underline strategic objectives

Salem Al Shamsi, vice president for international relations at Dubai Chambers, said the mission opens channels for sustained investment and market access. He highlighted the objective of enhancing private-sector competitiveness in Dubai while supporting the emirate’s non-oil external trade growth. Organisers framed the trade mission as a practical step to convert trade statistics into long-term partnerships and projects.

Forum and diplomatic backing in Accra

The chamber hosted a Dubai‑Ghana Business Forum in Accra to coincide with the meetings, with support from the UAE Embassy in Ghana and the Ghana Consulate in the UAE. Local partners included the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, which assisted in matchmaking and regulatory briefings. Delegates noted that the combined diplomatic and commercial backing helped clarify investment incentives and procedural requirements for prospective projects.

The trade mission will continue with further engagement planned in Ethiopia as organisers look to replicate the Accra model across other promising African markets. Final outcomes from the Accra meetings were expected to be announced after follow‑up consultations and due diligence, as companies convert initial talks into memoranda of understanding and contractual agreements.
