The General Department of Civil Defense in Dubai controlled a fire that broke out yesterday evening in the facade of a residential building in the Al Barsha area, without causing any casualties
The civil defense spokesman said that a report was received at 10:33 on Sunday evening, and the Al Barsha Fire Station responded immediately as a competent authority and first responder, and the fire brigades arrived within five minutes of receiving the report.
He added that it became clear after arriving at the site that the fire broke out in the front of the building, which consists of eight floors, so evacuation and fire-fighting operations began immediately.
He pointed out that the field commander of the incident was informed after only about half an hour that the incident was under control, the fire had been contained, and all residents were safely evacuated without any casualties.
About an hour and 10 minutes after the start of firefighting operations, the building was placed under cooling operations, and was later handed over to the competent authorities according to the procedures followed to determine the cause of the accident.
Residents circulated clips showing the fire that affected the facade of the building, noting that the General Administration of Civil Defense’s response was professional to an eye-catching degree, as huge masses of fire appeared before it was brought under control within less than half an hour.
In turn, Dubai Police sent its patrols to facilitate the entry of fire engines and help evacuate the building and the surrounding area, which contributed to dealing with the incident without causing casualties.
