Dubai Commodities and Dubai Police enhance public safety through a network of drones


Today, DMCC announced the signing of a partnership with Dubai Police to expand its innovative drone network with the aim of enhancing security and increasing field awareness in one of the most prominent business areas in the Emirate of Dubai.

The advanced “Drone Box” system was deployed across the “Uptown Dubai” and “Jumeirah Lakes Towers” ​​areas of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, making it the first case of using the system in monitoring high-rise buildings.

This step represents an important achievement in Dubai Police’s commitment to adopting smart technology to enhance urban safety, as it contributes significantly to enhancing emergency response and remote monitoring capabilities in high-altitude urban environments.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, CEO and Executive Director of the Dubai Multi Commodities Center, said that the “Drone Box” system is one of the most advanced drone technologies in the world, and plays an important role in enhancing public safety in Dubai.

He added that the use of the “Drone Box” system in the Jumeirah Lakes Towers and Uptown Dubai communities of the Dubai Multi Commodities Center represents the first time that this technology has been used in high-rise buildings, which indicates our commitment to providing the best experience in all our areas.

For his part, Captain Engineer Mohammed Omar Al Muhairi, Head of the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Center in the General Directorate of Operations at Dubai Police, stressed the importance of this initiative, and said that the “Drone Box” system is a qualitative initiative at the city level launched by Dubai Police, and it has proven its effectiveness in reducing travel times. Responding to emergencies and providing vital data that supports the decision-making process, and through our partnership with the Dubai Multi Commodities Center, we seek to employ these air capabilities to enhance public safety and increase field awareness in one of the fastest growing free zones and the most prominent business centers in the world.
