The Dubai Family Companies Center, which works under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, has released two counseling models to provide family companies with practical resources that help them in resolving conflicts, in addition to drawing a clear and organized map to understand family relations that affect the dynamics of working with family companies.
A statement, issued yesterday, explained that the first counseling model entitled “Using (Genozram) plans to understand the dynamics of family companies”, provides instructions on how to employ “Genozram” plans as an effective tool that helps family companies to draw a clear map to understand the relationships that affect the dynamics of work , Where family relations are a key and direct driver in the process of making decisions, planning for leadership transition and daily operations management.
The “Genozram” scheme is a visual tool to clarify family and collective relationships across generations comprehensively, and this plan is distinguished from the traditional family tree by its comprehensiveness, as it is not limited to showing biological ties only, but also includes emotional ties and social and professional roles.
The “Gengram” scheme is very popular in multiple areas such as medicine and psychology as an effective tool for analyzing family dynamics, and given the overlapping of family and professional relationships in family companies, this plan is a valuable source of effective management of these relationships.
The second counseling model, under the title “The Mechanism for Solving Conflict”, provides practical instructions and frameworks to address and resolve conflict within family companies, as it reviews an organized approach to conflict resolution, enhancing harmony and ensuring the continuity and success of the work, while maintaining valuable family relationships.
The model shows that the resolution of conflict in family companies depends on the strategic and effective management of the disputes stemming from the variation of views, interests or values between family members, where understanding, cooperation and harmony must be enhanced while ensuring the continuity and success of the work, and at the same time maintaining family relationships.
The model deals with the main elements of the conflict resolution mechanism in family companies and identifying the parties responsible for addressing these cases, in addition to the conflict resolution charter, and identifying several proactive methodologies to deal with conflicts, evaluating them, alleviating their severity and reducing their impact on the work of the family.
It is noteworthy that the Dubai Family Companies Center was launched in May 2023, to be the authority concerned with ensuring the sustainability and growth of family companies in the Emirate of Dubai, the development of this vital sector, and the enhancement of its economic contribution to serve the future development plans of the emirate.
