Dubai Financial reached its highest level since May 2014


The Dubai Financial Market Index continued to rise, yesterday, for the fourth session in a row, rising by 0.38% to 5,229.34 points, to settle above the level of 5,200 points, which is its highest level since May 2014, while the Abu Dhabi Securities Market Index (FADGI) declined by 0.03% to 9462.64 points.

The Dubai Financial Market also strengthened its gains during the first six sessions of the new year 2025 (Thursday and Friday of last week, and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week), as its market capitalization gained about 9.98 billion dirhams, amid focus on blue-chip stocks, and anticipation of the listed companies’ disclosures about… Results of the fourth quarter of 2024.

The market capitalization of shares listed on the market rose from 906.905 billion dirhams at the end of last Tuesday’s session (the last session of 2024), to more than 916.889 billion dirhams at the end of yesterday’s trading, Thursday, the penultimate session of this week.

During the first six sessions of the new year, the Dubai Financial Market Index rose 1.38%, equivalent to 71.34 points, to the level of 5229.34 points, from the level of 5158 points. According to Dubai Financial data, the total amount of purchases from foreign investors’ transactions during the monitoring period amounted to about 842.41 million dirhams, after purchases worth 16.74 billion dirhams, and sales worth 15.89 billion dirhams.

The value of citizens’ sales of shares in the Dubai Financial Market amounted to about 15.83 billion dirhams, compared to purchases worth about 14.99 billion dirhams, so that the total amount was sales worth about 842.41 million dirhams.

Institutions also tended to purchases worth about 16.17 billion dirhams, compared to sales worth 15.51 billion dirhams, bringing the net institutional investment to about 659.58 million dirhams, the result of purchases.

The value of individual sales amounted to about 11.73 billion dirhams, compared to purchases of shares worth about 10.97 billion dirhams, bringing the total sales to about 758.07 million dirhams.
