Dubai Police Help Young Man Overcome Fear of Flying

The General Department of Airport Security at Dubai Police helped a young man overcome his fear of entering airports and traveling by plane since the death of his mother and his grief over her loss. The department issued him a special permit to enter Dubai International Airport and tour around it. It supported him in living in the airport atmosphere, meeting passengers and talking to them about the joy of boarding the plane and traveling.

Acting Director of the General Department of Airport Security, Brigadier Abdullah Hussain Khan, said that the young man had submitted a request to Dubai Police to help him enter Dubai International Airport, walk around inside it and approach the planes with their assistance, attaching a medical report from the competent authorities about the “phobia” he was suffering from, and the doctors’ recommendation for him to enter the airport and walk around it to experience reality, overcome this condition and support him in his treatment. He added that the General Department of Airport Security, within the framework of the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, to work on making society happy, received the young man and issued him a special permit to enter all airport facilities that fall under the jurisdiction of the police, and enabled him to talk to airport workers and passengers and walk around the duty-free market, and provided him with a positive atmosphere to enrich his experience and overcome his phobia.

He pointed out that the medical report showed that the young man was suffering from a fear of death due to the death of his mother, and he had become afraid of approaching some places, including airports and boarding airplanes.

Brigadier Abdullah Hussain Khan received the young man in his office at Dubai International Airport and spoke with him about the work mechanisms and the security and societal role of Dubai Police.
