The Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with IHG Hotels and Resorts Group, one of the most prominent hotel companies in the world, with the aim of enhancing the offers and experiences that Dubai provides to its residents and visitors.
The department stated in a statement yesterday that the agreement includes a set of joint initiatives and training programs for workers in the hospitality sector, in addition to providing new tourism experiences.
The memorandum was signed by the Executive Director of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, affiliated with the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, Issam Kazim, and the President of the IHG Hotels and Resorts Group in the India, Middle East and Africa region, Haitham Matar.
This step comes within the framework of the department’s firm commitment to working with the most prominent local and international brands in the hospitality sector with the aim of developing innovation and excellence, in line with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda “D33”, which aims to enhance the emirate’s position as a leading global destination for business and entertainment.
By developing a framework that supports cooperation and harmonization between the two parties, the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai and the IHG Hotels and Resorts Group will work to launch marketing and promotional campaigns, in parallel with the group highlighting Dubai as a leading global tourist destination through marketing channels and social media platforms. With it.
In addition, the two parties will cooperate to design tourism activities that highlight Dubai’s unique attractions, including tours to explore cultural heritage and seasonal offers, which will be integrated into special packages that meet the needs of various markets.
The MoU will also enable IHG Hotels and Resorts employees to participate in training courses offered by Dubai College of Tourism.
It will also provide hotel staff with access to resources and experts in relevant fields, including specialized training courses, workshops, and certification programs designed to provide employees with the latest knowledge and best practices.
The memorandum of understanding focuses on integrating Dubai’s tourism experiences into the global IHG Hotels & Resorts Rewards Club and loyalty program in which more than 130 million members participate worldwide.
Kazim said: “As part of joint cooperation efforts, we will provide new experiences capable of attracting a diverse group of visitors, thus enhancing the emirate’s attractiveness as a global destination and the best destination to live, work and visit.”
