Emirates bicycles in 2024…unprecedented achievements and global leadership


Emirati cycling sports recorded remarkable achievements after extensive participation in various regional, continental and international championships during the year 2024, by achieving many colorful medals in various categories and age stages of male and female players, and at the national team level.

According to the Emirates Cycling Federation, the year 2024 was full of achievements and successful participation, making Emirates bicycles a landmark in the Gulf, the Arab world, regionally and internationally, with a renewed start to raise the UAE flag in various international tournaments and forums in the new year.

The most recent achievement at the end of last year was winning 28 colored medals at the conclusion of participation in the Arab Track Championship in Egypt during the month of December, achieving second place in the ranking table for the teams participating in the championship in all categories.

Among the most prominent achievements of last year for UAE cycling was the achievement of the first Asian gold medal by cyclist Abdullah Jassim, and Mohammed Al Mutaiwee winning the Asian silver medal, continuing to shine as a rising Emirati talent, as he also achieved silver in the Asian Track Cup, and also won the white jersey in the Salalah Cycling Tour, as well as Silver medal in the Asian Track Championships in India.

In the Gulf Games, the youth and junior teams won 6 colorful medals.

In terms of foreign participation, Khaled Al Nuaimi recorded the UAE’s first participation in the World Youth Championships held in Switzerland, while Mohammed Al Mutaiwee participated in the World Track Championships in Denmark, and the national team participated in the Shanghai Tour in China.

Safia Al-Sayegh, a national team player, was able to record the first official presence for the UAE in the female category at the Olympics, after her participation in the Paris 2024 Olympics. Al-Sayegh also participated in the World Road Championships organized by the International Federation in the Swiss city of Zurich, and riders Mohammed Al-Mutaiwee and Abdullah Jassim also participated.

As for the Emirates Cycling Team, the team concluded the 2024 season with many achievements, most notably obtaining first place in the World Tour team classification for the second time in a row, after achieving its goal this year, recording 81 victories, while Tadei Pogačar led the team’s efforts again, concluding the year. As the best cyclist in the world for the fourth consecutive season.
