Emirates Cycling retains Copa Sabatini title for second year

Emirates Team Emirates rider Marc Hirschi has claimed another victory in the 197.6km Piccioli-Coppa Sabatini race, following his 2023 triumph. The Swiss rider finished ahead of Gregor Mühlberger (Movistar) and Anders Voldager (Jayco-Alola) to win the 2024 edition, his second consecutive win.

Hirschi had claimed his 71st win for the UAE team on the steep Piccioli hill, 37km from the finish line, starting from the main group and overtaking all the rival riders in the group that had started with him.

Hirschi took a commanding 40-second lead this morning and held on to four riders who were following him, coming into the final lap alone, winning his last four races: Donostia San Sebastian Classic, Gran Bretagne Classic, GP Industria & Artigianato and GP Piccioli-Coppa Sabatini.

The race results included Marc Hirschi (Team Emirates) winning first place with a time of 4 hours and 53 minutes, followed by Gregor Muhlberger (Team Movistar) in second place with a difference of 28 minutes, and Anders Voldager (Team Jaico-Alola) in third place with the same time as his predecessor.
