Emirates Group transmits its data center to “Moro”


The Emirates Airlines Group announced yesterday its intention to transfer its data center to the Moro Center, which is affiliated with the Diwa Digital, the digital arm of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, to take advantage of hosting and communication services at the Green Data Center, which works with solar energy, in the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Energy Complex, and is the largest center of its kind in the world according to the Guinness Book of World Records.

The group stated, in a statement, that the transfer of its data center to “Moro” represents a qualitative shift in the group’s technological infrastructure that enhances its capabilities in preparation for the next stage of strong growth, expected to start transferring its data center to “Moro” as of mid -2026.

Under the agreement, Moro will provide the Emirates Group with integrated hosting services that include data capacities, energy and cooling supply, and the provision of relevant equipment and services. The agreement also strengthens the efforts of the Emirates Group in the field of sustainability and the transition to clean energy, as it will provide the consumption of the energy center of energy, which reaches 3000 megawatts annually.

The signing of the agreement witnessed the Managing Director, CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Saeed Al -Tayer, while it was signed by the head of finance and the services of the group in the Emirates Group, Michael Dursam, and the deputy chairman of the digital sector and the CEO of the Dua Digital Group, Eng. Marwan bin Haider.

Al -Tayer said: “We continue to work to consolidate the position of Dubai is a leading global destination in the field of sustainable digital innovation, in line with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the carbon neutrality strategy for the Emirate of Dubai 2050,” adding: “We are proud to support the efforts of the Emirates Group in the field of sustainability by transferring its data center to the largest solar -powered green data center in the world and located in the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Complex.”

Al -Tayer continued: “This strategic alliance with the Emirates Group confirms Dubai’s commitment to accelerating the digital transformation and enhancing its global position in the field of sustainability in the aviation sector, and through this cooperation the (Moro) Center contributes to advancing sustainable economic growth and ensuring a future based on innovation and sustainability, which establishes Dubai’s leadership at the global level.”

For his part, Dormsam said: “Our partnership with the (Moro) Center is a major step in the efforts made to enhance the technological capabilities of the Emirates Group at a time when the group prepares for a new stage of growth and expansion, and this partnership supports the common vision of our institution to consolidate Dubai’s position as a world leading in technology, innovation and sustainability, as it will allow us to transfer our data center to (Moro) to enhance our operational flexibility And future expansion capabilities, and besides all of this, reducing our environmental silence. ”
