Emirates returns to Edinburgh with a daily flight

Emirates Airlines, the largest international air carrier, has resumed its flights to the Scottish capital, Edinburgh, for the first time since 2020.

The famous Royal Edinburgh Military Band welcomed the Emirates Boeing 777 aircraft upon its arrival at Edinburgh Airport.

With the resumption of this service, Edinburgh becomes Emirates’ eighth destination in the United Kingdom, and with the daily flights operated by the carrier to Glasgow using its Airbus A380 aircraft, passengers will have 14 flights per week between Dubai and Scotland.

Adnan Kazim, Vice President and Chief Commercial Operations Officer at Emirates Airlines, said: “The United Kingdom is one of our most important markets, and the new service will allow travel on board Boeing 777 aircraft in a phased manner before using the new Airbus A350 aircraft on this route at a later stage.”

He added that travelers can now easily travel to many popular tourist destinations within the Emirates flight network, such as Thailand and Australia, in addition to the city of Dubai.

He pointed out that the new service makes shipping solutions more efficient and reliable for companies in Scotland and enables them to reach international markets faster to meet the demand for their products.

For his part, Gordon Dewar, CEO of Edinburgh Airport, said: “This direct connection to Dubai is widely welcomed by businessmen and tourists alike, as it provides them with great opportunities to travel through the carrier’s extensive network.”
