The owner of the “UAE vocabulary” initiative, on the social networking site “Instagram”, which was preferred to be referred to as (Umm Ubaid), said that “the account started about three years ago, specifically at the end of 2014, to introduce the local Emirati vocabulary, especially the old ones, which is that The current generation of citizens does not know it.

She added: “My goal is to learn the new generation of the correct Emirati dialect, and the vocabulary that our fathers and grandparents used in their daily lives, especially since a number of them forgot, and they are using other languages ​​at home.” He explained that she “noticed the orientation of her sons and daughters to speak English at home, and in Most often do not know the terms that adults use in the family. ” She pointed out that “since the initiative began in 2014, her daughters participated in her asking about all the vocabulary they hear, and they are trying to help their mother search for her”, following up: “They started to leave the use of other languages ​​at home, and indeed they were using some of the vocabulary that she published in the account over the extent Past years. ”

On the extent of people accepting the account, (Umm Ubaid) explained, “The account started small with the word (Samandga), which means the weak person who does not have the decision. The grandparents, and indeed I explained that these words came because of travel and migration, and the presence of people from other countries, and they have set up a list of exotic words, and explained each word.

She added: “I was working on the initiative, and choosing the words that I publish in the account myself, but my family later contributed to the search for new words to add, and they chose the appropriate designs for each word to publish it on the account, which I wanted to carry one goal, which is to revive The old dialect is under the slogan (its place is our Ramsna).

And she added that «a number of its followers from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait contribute to sending vocabulary from their local dialects to be published in the account, and they try to send the necessary explanations, and what are the differences between words, and the ways to use them between these countries, as you try to attach all these vocabulary to learn the new generation the difference Between them. She pointed out that «one of her followers, who is a scholarship from Al Ain, is studying in Malaysia, he asked to participate in creating a special page related to vocabulary similar to her page, but he wants to enter through another platform, which is (Twitter), so that he can reach the largest possible number of Persons, and benefit from the vocabulary they published on (Instagram).

(Umm Ubaid) stated that she “plans in the future to publish a book on the vocabulary that she published through her account, and in the book, the appropriate explanations are presented to each word, and the best way to use words, so that young people can see it.”
