The Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi has begun implementing new amendments to the legal provisions related to public appearance, health and public tranquility in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The amendments aim to enhance the quality of life in the emirate by preserving its tranquility and public health.
Yesterday, the Abu Dhabi government confirmed that the amendments allow violators to submit their grievances to the municipality, to ensure justice.
It also contributes to enabling the concerned authorities to eliminate violations as quickly as required.
The decision included converting the fines stipulated in the law into administrative fines, imposed directly by the relevant administration in the municipality instead of referring them to the Public Prosecution, and granting flexibility in determining their value in proportion to the nature of the violation, and the possibility of offering reconciliation to the violators, after paying the equivalent of 75% of the amount. The value of the fine shall be within 60 days from the date of offering reconciliation to him, in addition to removing the traces of the violation on the specified date, or the concerned municipality shall remove them at his expense.
The law prohibits any action that would disturb or harm the general appearance, cultural, architectural and aesthetic aspects of public places in the emirate, including green spaces, sidewalks, buildings, markets and roads.
It also prohibits any behavior that would disturb public health, or negatively affect the freedom and daily life of others.
It works to eliminate all appearances that cause disturbance, to ensure complete tranquility and comfort for the residents.
The amendments to the provisions of the law grant the Department of Municipalities and Transport the authority to issue the executive regulations and decisions necessary to implement the law in coordination with the relevant authorities, through decisions issued by the department that included executive regulations, regulatory legislation, and guidance guides for the areas specified by the law, with a statement of violations and fines, to preserve the splendor of the emirate and the beauty of its appearance. .
The decisions covered everything related to maintaining public places, organizing camping and events, billboards, using satellite dishes, dealing with abandoned vehicles, health control of non-food and veterinary facilities, slaughterhouses, slaughterhouses, swimming pools, animal control and welfare, tobacco control, etc. As well as organizing marine and land parks, outdoor seating, occupying sidewalks, and maintaining the public tranquility of the emirate.
