Flydubai launches daily direct flights to Aleppo and expands UAE-Syria connectivity

flydubai launches daily direct flights to Aleppo, boosting UAE–Syria air connectivity

flydubai launches daily Aleppo flights from Dubai on July 20, 2026, strengthening UAE–Syria air links with Emirates codeshare; fares start at AED 1,800 from DXB.

flydubai Aleppo services began on July 20, 2026, when the carrier’s inaugural FZ 1191 departed Dubai International Airport for Aleppo International. The new daily direct route establishes Aleppo as flydubai’s second Syrian destination alongside Damascus and immediately expands travel options for business, tourism and family visits. The launch aims to cut journey times for passengers who previously relied on indirect itineraries through third countries.

Launch details and schedule

The route to Aleppo International Airport (ALP) will operate daily from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport with flight number FZ 1191 on the outbound leg. flydubai confirmed the service is scheduled as a regular daily rotation, providing consistent connectivity across the week. The carrier says the service addresses peak summer demand and offers a direct alternative to connecting flights.

Codeshare and passenger connectivity

Flights to Aleppo are operated within a codeshare arrangement between flydubai and Emirates, allowing seamless ticketing and baggage transfer on a single itinerary. Passengers can book through either carrier and access onward connections across both networks without separate check-ins for each segment. The partnership is intended to simplify transfers and expand onward options for travellers from the Gulf, Asia and Europe.

Fares and cabin options

flydubai published introductory fares for the new route with roundtrip business-class tickets from Dubai to Aleppo starting at AED 8,000 and economy fares from AED 1,800. Return fares listed from Aleppo to Dubai begin at USD 2,000 for business and USD 470 for economy, reflecting market-driven pricing in different currencies. The carrier offers multiple booking classes and standard flexibility options to suit leisure and business travellers.

Fleet upgrades and onboard experience

The airline will operate the service using its modern Boeing 737 fleet, which has recently received interior updates to enhance passenger comfort. Business-class cabins feature seats that convert to fully flat beds, while economy cabins have refurbished seating and improved in-flight entertainment. Meals, snacks and beverages are provided on board and the carrier emphasizes a refreshed service proposition for regional short-haul sectors.

Network expansion and strategic positioning

The Aleppo launch follows flydubai’s return to Damascus in June 2025 and is part of a broader network expansion that has recently included Bangkok and Benghazi. The carrier has announced further additions to its schedule, with a new service to Pokhara in Nepal planned to commence from September 23, 2026. flydubai says these decisions are driven by demonstrated passenger demand and a strategic aim to strengthen links between Dubai and underserved markets.

Aleppo’s role in regional travel and commerce

Aleppo is Syria’s second-largest city and is internationally recognised for its long history and cultural landmarks, including the Citadel and the covered market. The city remains a commercial hub with longstanding trade ties that the airline expects to support through increased air connectivity. Officials point to potential upticks in business travel, diaspora visits and niche tourism driven by easier access.

The carrier’s chief commercial officer said the daily Aleppo service reflects flydubai’s confidence in the Syrian market and its commitment to expanding regional connectivity. The new route is positioned to relieve pressure on connecting itineraries during the busy summer travel season and to offer a direct, time-saving option for passengers across the Gulf and neighbouring regions.
