Flydubai launches daily Dubai–Don Mueang flights with Emirates codeshare

Flydubai launches daily flights to Bangkok’s Don Mueang, expanding Thai network

Flydubai Bangkok flights begin daily service to Don Mueang, offering new connections and codeshare benefits with Emirates for UAE–Thailand travelers.

Flydubai Bangkok flights began daily operations to Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport yesterday, marking the carrier’s second destination in Thailand alongside Krabi. The inaugural service departed from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport and was welcomed at Don Mueang with customary water cannon salutes and airport officials on the tarmac. The new daily link is intended to meet growing demand for travel between the United Arab Emirates and Thailand and to provide passengers with more choices for both leisure and business travel. Flydubai said the route will operate on its Boeing 737 MAX fleet and be offered as a codeshare with Emirates to simplify onward connections.

Inaugural flight and ceremonial welcome

The first Flydubai flight to Don Mueang arrived under traditional airport protocols, signaling the start of scheduled daily operations between Dubai and one of Bangkok’s principal airports. Airport representatives in Bangkok received the aircraft, reflecting the route’s immediate operational readiness. Flydubai highlighted the significance of adding an additional Thai gateway to complement its existing Krabi services. The carrier framed the launch as part of an ongoing programme to broaden capacity to popular destinations across Southeast Asia.

Service pattern and aircraft type

Flydubai will operate the Dubai–Don Mueang sector with its Boeing 737 MAX aircraft on a daily basis, offering a direct connection that shortens travel times for UAE passengers bound for Bangkok. Flights originate from Terminal 3 at Dubai International, enabling straightforward transfers for passengers connecting from other carriers or services within Dubai’s airport complex. The choice of Don Mueang, which serves significant low-cost and domestic traffic, is aimed at serving both tourists and business travellers seeking alternative access to Bangkok. The carrier has aligned schedules to support convenient overnight or daytime arrivals, depending on seasonal demand.

Codeshare with Emirates and passenger benefits

The new service will be marketed under a codeshare arrangement between Flydubai and Emirates, allowing travellers to book through-tickets and benefit from smoother transfer processes. Under the codeshare, passengers can expect unified ticketing and coordinated baggage handling for many connecting itineraries between the two carriers. The arrangement is intended to increase connectivity between Dubai and destinations beyond Bangkok, while offering customers access to combined networks and frequent flyer benefits where applicable. Flydubai and Emirates have previously collaborated on network planning to optimise feed and connections at Dubai’s airports.

Fares and class offerings

Flydubai has published introductory fares for the new route, with roundtrip business-class tickets starting from 11,000 dirhams and economy basic fares from 3,000 dirhams on the Dubai–Don Mueang leg. On the return sector from Don Mueang to Dubai, roundtrip business-class fares begin at 83,000 Thai baht, while economy basic fares start at 22,100 baht. The carrier said fares will vary by season and availability, and passengers booking through the codeshare can select combined itineraries that reflect pricing across both airlines. Additional services, such as baggage allowances and seat selection, will be subject to the fare class and the terms displayed at booking.

Strategic expansion and seasonal capacity

Flydubai described the Bangkok launch as a strategic step in its network expansion, adding capacity to meet rising travel demand during the northern hemisphere summer and ahead of year-end peak periods. The carrier emphasised that increased frequencies to Thailand will support tourism flows and business travel between the UAE and Southeast Asia. Executives framed the move as part of Flydubai’s broader effort to enhance Dubai’s role as a global aviation hub by offering more direct services and by working in partnership with other operators.

Official remarks and market context

Flydubai’s chief executive, Ghaith Al Ghaith, said the Don Mueang service provides a new gateway to Bangkok that will benefit customers and reinforce Dubai’s connectivity role. Thai tourism officials also welcomed the additional capacity, with Thapanee Kiatphaibool, governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, noting the Middle East—particularly the UAE—remains an important long-haul source market. Thai authorities highlighted that the extra seats on Boeing 737 MAX aircraft will help support travel volumes during the summer season and into the year-end peak.

The new Flydubai Bangkok flights are expected to increase travel flexibility for passengers travelling between the UAE and Thailand, while supporting greater trade and tourism ties. Travelers should consult airline booking channels for the latest schedules, fare conditions and any entry requirements before planning their journeys.
