Fun literature

People do not seem to be abandoned by literature, as they were before. It can be said that literature readers are in a decrease in increasing day after day. What has changed?

Literature was still a field of culture, whether in the anthropological definitions of culture, which exceeded 160 definitions since Max Weber, or in other definitions. That is, there is an agreement that literature is a major element in culture, such as thought and concepts.

And because the culture is the main component of the identity, it is not satisfied with literature, so that the identity is not satisfied with culture. Identity involves self -knowledge that can only be achieved through the knowledge and dialogue of the other.

Perhaps we are forced to return to the concept of literature, its role, and its position in forming the personality of society.

All ideological studies have been focused on the role of literature in the battle of social awareness. In the past, Marxist beauty scientists said that literature is the finest forms of social awareness. Despite the exaggeration of such words, we cannot ignore what literature offers in this context.

The awareness that literature offers is an inevitable result of the topics it raises, the multiple visions of it, and its approach to the basic questions of existence. It is not necessarily that literature raises solutions or answers, but just dealing with human concerns and basic questions, and trying to put them under a microscope, meaning that in this a provocation to the human mind, in order to discuss these concerns and questions, and in order to contemplate this ambiguity that surrounds it, and tries to peel it and reach its essence.

But what we should not ignore is the secret of the existence of literature in the first place, in light of the existence of other cognitive fields, and the most able to discuss humanitarian issues and their approach and search for answers about them, such as philosophy, psychology, medicine and various sciences.

Arts involve the value of the enjoyment that the fields of culture and other knowledge lack, and the episodes of the series in Caesarean Russia, for example, played the role of the TV series these days, so the lengthy novels of each of Tolstoy and Destoyevsky appeared.

We cannot say that modern literature has lost its pleasure that has been necessary from the beginnings. However, we cannot deny that the space of pleasure in modern literature is diminished. Perhaps the reason for this is mainly due to false concepts about literary modernity.

We have seen many new writings that want to reduce other knowledge, intensify cosmic knowledge in itself, in addition to ignoring the reader’s right to enjoy what he reads.

There has become a mockery of vocabulary, such as suspense, for example, just because it belongs to a traditional speech, and just to say that modernity requires a comprehensive coup in concepts. The owners of these trends forget that pleasure is the capital of literature. And that suspense is a game that should be mastered, regardless of the labels, descriptions and epithets.

Yes, literature is in danger, as is the title of the last book of writer Todorov, but our hopes remain suspended by the ability of history to correct many human mistakes. But the ability of history needs help from time to time, which we aspire to see and touch!
