“Future of Sports Retreat” in Dubai next Tuesday


Next Tuesday, the Ministry of Sports will organize a “Future of Sports Retreat” in Dubai, to discuss the future of UAE sports and ways to develop them, under the slogan “A new vision… a better sports future.”

The retreat is the first event of its kind at the level of national sports in the country, as it brings together ministers, government officials, and an elite of decision-makers and experts in the sports sector and partner sectors, along with a number of players from the Olympic and Paralympic national teams, in various sports games in the country.

The Minister of Sports, Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, said: “Emirati sports are witnessing a new launch in light of the interest of the wise leadership in the sports axis, and placing it among the priorities in the state’s vision for the next stage, especially through the formation of the Ministry of Sports, which reflects the importance of the sports sector, as it is one of the most prominent development axes. “It confirms the role of this vital sector in enhancing the status and reputation of the UAE regionally and globally.”

He stressed that “the retreat provides an ideal platform to bring together the Emirati sports family, exchange ideas and experiences, and enhance integration and coordination between the Ministry of Sports and the various sports authorities in the country, and partners from various relevant sectors. During the retreat, the most prominent opportunities and challenges will be reviewed, and ways to develop the governance of the sports system to reach To more advanced levels, the retreat will also witness many fruitful discussions and dialogue sessions, to come up with recommendations and decisions that will bring about a qualitative shift in the entire sports sector.” The retreat includes brainstorming sessions aimed at developing new strategies and work mechanisms, to consolidate sports culture among various segments of society, and to enhance awareness of the importance of practicing sports, with a focus on spreading a culture of professionalism among emerging talents and young athletes, through five main axes: youth, sports, and sports. University, sports as a soft power, preparations for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, and the integration of the sports system in the country.

It is expected that the retreat will result in important recommendations, in addition to the announcement of a number of initiatives and joint cooperation programs, to push Emirati sports towards new horizons of development and professionalism, in a way that enhances the UAE’s position on the international sports arena, and contributes to advancing the process of sustainable development and achieving its goals.
