The national team for modern sailing girls won four colorful medals, with the conclusion of the first Arab championship competitions, which concluded the day before yesterday, in the Bahraini capital, Manama, with the participation of eight teams: the Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, Iraq, Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria.
The UAE topped the overall standings with four medals, including two gold medals for Marwa Al Hammadi, a silver for Camelia Al Qubaisi, and another for Madia Al Neyadi.
Marwa Al Hammadi succeeded in combining two achievements in the first edition of the Arab Championship for Girls, where she was able to grab two gold medals, the first in the “ELCA 4” under-15 category, and the second gold in the overall standings for the same category, which witnessed the participation of seven female contestants.
Camellia Al Qubaisi won the silver medal in the “ELCA 6” under-18 category, which witnessed the participation of four female contestants, while her rising colleague Madiya Khaled Al Neyadi followed the same path to give the UAE the silver medal in the Optimist competitions, which witnessed the participation of 10 female contestants.
