Graham Potter is appointed technical director of West Ham

Yesterday, the English Football Club, West Ham, announced the appointment of Graham Potter as technical director of the first team, after the dismissal of Spaniard Julen Lopetegui.

The former Brighton and Chelsea coach signed a two-and-a-half-year contract, returning to coaching after an absence that lasted 20 months since his dismissal from Chelsea.

Potter said: “I am happy to be here. It was important for me to wait until an offer came that I felt was right for me, and likewise to be the right person for the club I joined, and this is the feeling I have towards West Ham.”

Potter will play his first match with the team when West Ham visit Aston Villa in the FA Cup today.
