They added, during the event that ends today, that the hydrogen sector is preparing for unprecedented growth during the current year 2025, thanks to its entry into many industries and its adoption in various sectors, in addition to its continued attraction of actual international investments, which has enhanced the growth of hydrogen production of all types.

The President of Boeing in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa, Colgate Gata Ora, said, “Green hydrogen, which is produced from renewable sources, will in the future play an increasing role in sustainable aviation fuel, and will improve its productivity,” stressing that the aviation industry has confirmed its commitment to introducing this fuel. In this context, he pointed to their strong partnership with the UAE, national authorities, and the Sustainable Bioenergy Research Consortium, which includes Masdar Institute, Khalifa University, Etihad Airways, and other leading parties in this field, stressing that the research resulted in the production of biofuel that was operated for the aircraft of the national carrier, “Etihad Airways.” . For her part, CEO of the Hydrogen Council, Ivana Gemilkova, confirmed that investment in the hydrogen sector has reached very encouraging levels, as committed capital has increased seven-fold over the past four years, adding that this progress confirms that hydrogen has transformed from a vision into a tangible global reality. .

Gemilkova praised the pioneering role of the UAE and the region in supporting global initiatives to develop the hydrogen sector, noting that Masdar recently joined the Board of Directors of the World Hydrogen Council, looking forward to intensifying work with the UAE and the region to advance the growth efforts of hydrogen projects at the regional and global levels.

In addition, the CEO of Crescent Enterprises and the Special Envoy for Business and Charitable Affairs in the UAE, Badr Jaafar, spoke in a session entitled “Financing the Future: Who Leads the Change,” about the need to increase funding allocated to climate issues four-fold to reach the goals of the Paris Agreement, stressing The crucial role of the private sector in this.

He said: “What is required here is not grants and institutional donations, but rather clear and dedicated investments worth 6 trillion. Since the assets under management worldwide exceed 120 trillion across insurance and retirement funds, family offices, and sovereign wealth funds, there is no doubt that we have huge sums of money within our reach, and we just have to direct them better. In fact, net private wealth exceeds $450 trillion, and is expected to increase by more than 6% annually.
