The Ministry of Health and Community Protection has warned against drugs used to treat gout, which may cause sudden death, and demanded all health and health care agencies in the country to take what is necessary towards patients who use the drug.
According to Circular No. 4266 issued by the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health and Licensing Policy, Chairman of the Higher Committee for Pharmaceutical Vigilance, Dr. Amin Hussein Al -Amiri, the American Food and Drug Administration has issued a warning when using products containing the active substance Febuxostat, which is used to treat gout, Because it may cause sudden death related to heart injuries.
The ministry revealed that the active substance is registered with the name Agout 40mg, Agout 80mg, ADENURIC 120MG and Adenuric 80mg.
In its generalization, the Ministry called on all health care practitioners in the country, using the aforementioned drugs only for patients who did not bear the drug allopurinol, and stressed that they should inform their satisfaction with the risks of cardiovascular and blood vessels when using these drugs, and the need to take immediate medical care when any heart symptoms occur.
He stressed patients with any heart problems or suffered from stroke, that their doctors should be informed of this, discussing the benefits and dangers of the aforementioned medicines, to treat gout, and the need to obtain the necessary health care when symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, and the acceleration of heartbeat , Or its irregularity, or feeling weak in one side of the body, and exposure to a state of dizziness or severe headache and sudden.
The Ministry called on patients who are exposed to any side effects as a result of the use of these drugs, to communicate with them, so that they can provide the appropriate aid and save their lives.
