Installing 400 electric charging stations in Abu Dhabi


The Director General of the Integrated Transport Center in Abu Dhabi, Abdullah Al Marzouqi, stated that work is underway to install 400 electric charging stations in various areas of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, as part of the plan to transition towards clean energy and reduce carbon emissions.

Al Marzouqi stated, in statements to Emirates Today, on the sidelines of the second edition of the Forbes Middle East Sustainability Leaders Summit, on its closing day yesterday in Abu Dhabi, that “50% of the development and initiatives that took place in the transportation sector in Abu Dhabi came in response to proposals and ideas from The public, which led to a 17% growth in public transportation, compared to last year. We have also succeeded in reaching 90% of low-carbon taxis or (zero emissions), and we aim to reach 100% by 2026.”

Al Marzouqi praised the partners from the private sector and the public who provided all support with ideas and initiatives, pointing out that the Integrated Transport Center is ready to receive any proposals related to where buses arrive and cover any areas not covered.

In addition, in the main session of the second day of the Forbes Summit, Al Marzouqi reviewed the initiatives and projects that meet the needs of customers and society, and achieve sustainable mobility in Abu Dhabi, by applying innovative solutions that raise the efficiency of the public transport sector, contribute to reducing carbon emissions, and the role of electric vehicles.
