Israeli air and drone strikes hit southern Lebanon towns, Lebanese media reports

Israeli airstrikes in south Lebanon hit multiple border towns, Lebanese NNA says

Israeli airstrikes in south Lebanon struck several border towns early today, including Mansouri, Srifa and Yatar, with drones and artillery, NNA reports.

Israeli airstrikes in south Lebanon struck multiple towns and border areas on Thursday, the Lebanese National News Agency reported, in a series of raids that included drone strikes, artillery fire and an early-morning explosive operation. The strikes hit Mansouri, Srifa and Yatar among other villages in the south, and military activity continued across several front-line localities. Officials and local media reported no immediate official casualty figures in the initial dispatches.

Air raids struck Mansouri, Srifa and Yatar

Lebanon’s official NNA reported that Israeli warplanes carried out strikes this afternoon targeting the towns of Mansouri, Srifa and Yatar in southern Lebanon. The agency’s bulletin described a sequence of air operations concentrated on those communities near the frontier.

Local sources said the strikes were part of a broader set of actions across the south and that residents were alerted by aircraft overflights and explosions. At the time of the report, emergency services were mobilising to assess damage and to assist affected civilians.

Drone strikes and targeted incidents in smaller villages

The NNA said Israeli drones carried out separate attacks on other settlements, including strikes on the towns of al-Ghandouriyya and Tulayl this afternoon. A drone was also reported to have struck a motorcycle in the village of Froun, according to the agency’s account.

Authorities in the affected villages described the use of both explosive and non-lethal aerial devices, and municipal sources noted damage to property near targeted points. Local leaders urged residents to stay away from open areas and roads while authorities verified the full scope of the incidents.

Artillery fire and daytime provocations near farmland

Israeli artillery reportedly shelled several towns in the south, with barrages directed at Barashit and Kafr Dunin, the NNA said. In a separate incident, an unmanned aircraft dropped sound bombs close to farmers working near the village of al-Haniyah, according to witnesses.

Farmers and residents told local media that the auditory detonations forced them to abandon fields temporarily and seek shelter. Municipal officials warned of ongoing hazards in agricultural zones where unexploded ordnance cannot yet be ruled out.

Roadway strike between Tura and Jannata

A morning drone strike was reported on the road linking the towns of Tura and Jannata, an area that has seen repeated exchanges in recent weeks. Local authorities described damage to the roadway and nearby infrastructure as a consequence of that attack.

Residents expressed concern about mobility and access to medical and emergency services following the strikes, noting that road safety had been compromised by the presence of debris and security operations. Repair crews and civil defence teams were being coordinated to clear the route once it was deemed secure.

Dawn demolition operation in Khiam and increased ground activity

Lebanon’s official bulletins said the Israeli military conducted a large explosive operation in the town of Khiam in the early hours of the day. The statement indicated a significant detonation and intensified aerial activity over the same area at dawn.

Military movements and targeted demolitions at night or in pre-dawn hours have repeatedly heightened tensions along the Blue Line in recent months, local officials said. Security sources emphasised that such operations complicate humanitarian access and impede routine civilian life for border communities.

Local authorities urge caution as investigations proceed

Municipal and civil defence officials in the affected areas urged residents to follow safety instructions and to report suspicious objects to the authorities. Emergency services have been dispatched to inspect targeted sites and to provide immediate assistance where needed.

Lebanese security and municipal leaders also called for restraint and verification of facts as investigations continue into the extent of material damage and any potential casualties. The NNA updates were cited consistently by local media as the official source for the initial reports.

The incidents come amid a fragile security environment along the Israel-Lebanon frontier, with cross-border exchanges and aerial activity increasing concerns among local communities. Authorities in the south continue to monitor the situation and coordinate response efforts while calling for clear information and protective measures for civilians.
