Vice President of the Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled, Louay Allay, revealed his ambition to become a member of the International Paralympic Committee or one of its active committees, to continue his humanitarian mission in serving and supporting people of determination to whom he belongs, as he is blind, and to convey the pioneering Emirati experience in supporting and serving people of determination in Various aspects, including sports, after a sports career that began from 2002 until now.
Louay Allay told Emirates Today that he is in the process of writing a book in which he collects a group of sports initiatives, ideas, experiences and programmes, which were implemented for the first time in the country as a project to add to his athletic and administrative career in sports for people of determination over the course of 20 years.
He explained, “One of those initiatives was the promotion of the sport of parajudo and the formation of a women’s team in the Khorfakkan club, which led the national team and club player, Maryam Al Dhanhani, to win the silver medal in the Finnish International Championship under the supervision of coach Dr. Moh Saleh Al Moh, which contributed to the discovery of female players in this sport,” noting. “The plan is to include more than one self-defense sport in his club in the future,” he said.
Louay Allay stressed that he needs someone to reflect these ideas in the upcoming book and provide assistance from writing specialists, as he is currently busy studying to complete the requirements for obtaining a doctorate degree from Alexandria University in Egypt, after he obtained a master’s degree in 2021.

Busy sporting career
Louay Allay revealed that he began playing sports with the blind team in Sharjah as a player, and after a period of time he moved to administrative work in the Emirates Association for the Blind, after he found that his colleagues needed his administrative efforts more than his athletic efforts as a player. Indeed, he assumed his mission as director of the national team, and then he was appointed a member. He served on the Board of Directors of the Khor Fakkan Club for the Disabled and as Chairman of the Sports Committee in a mission characterized by extreme difficulty, and represented one of the greatest challenges, as his previous work was limited to blind athletes. However, with his new appointment, he became responsible for many sports for people of determination, but thanks to his insistence, determination, and studying helpful ideas, He was able to successfully carry out his sporting duties, which later led to his being assigned the position of Vice Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors for nearly five years.
He explained: “The five years were a period full of Khor Fakkan players winning a large number of medals and cups at the global level, and there are still many more, while I am very proud of winning the gold medal with the goalball team in the Gulf Olympics in Riyadh, and the Gulf bronze also in Saudi Arabia, and one of my most prominent achievements is also being chosen among the The top three in the Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi Award for Sports Excellence.”
Challenges
Louay Allay said that his career was full of challenges, but at the same time he was overcoming them by mobilizing all available capabilities to adapt the challenges, and what helped him in this was the accumulated experience that he had generated due to the combination of administrative and sports work and entering several courses in body language and human development, and courses with titles Others contributed to raising his level of efficiency, explaining: “The modern technology introduced by the Emirates Federation for People of Determination, and that used by the Khor Fakkan Club for the Disabled, helped me a lot.”
He concluded his speech: “Doing sports brings a lot of positivity, and not stopping at one station, and exploiting the positive conditions provided by the clubs to create a successful environment that helps lead an ideal life,” adding that he is proud to be the first blind person to join the board of directors of a sports club for people of determination, and the first blind person to join For the UAE National Paralympic Committee.
