Maryam Al Hammadi reviews the leadership of the Emirates in updating the governance and legislation system in Davos


The Minister of State and the Secretary -General of the Council of Ministers, Maryam bint Ahmed Al -Hammadi, made a comprehensive presentation of the UAE’s leading achievements in the field of government modernization and legislative innovation, as part of her participation in the session “Re -Virtual Government Work System” that was held within the activities of the 55th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum.

She emphasized the pre -emptive approach adopted by the UAE in promoting flexible governance that is based on adapting to the accelerated technological developments, responding to the increasing aspirations of citizens, and dealing with the complications of an unprecedented world.

Al -Hammadi stressed that government modernization is no longer just an option, but rather has become an urgent necessity to ensure that governments remain effective and reliable, stressing that the process of government modernization and development requires governments to make comprehensive legislative and organizational transformations based on innovation, comprehensiveness and sustainability.

In this context, she explained that the past four years have witnessed the largest legislative transformation in the history of the UAE, where more than 80% of the federal laws have been updated thanks to the fruitful cooperation between government and private work teams.

The main legislative transformations that contributed to achieving tangible progress in various developmental fields, the most important of which are possible legislation for the economy, attracting investment, empowering the business environment, supporting the digital economy, organizing e -commerce activities, providing a safe environment for investment in emerging sectors such as virtual assets and digital currencies, and simplifying procedures in the civil sectors Commercial and government, enhancing the flexibility of the labor market, providing a new system of visas and residencies, launching the gold residence program to attract global talents, entrepreneurs and investors, in addition to the updates made in the judicial and community legislative system and infrastructure legislation.

She stressed the importance of governments integrating human intelligence with artificial intelligence and advanced technology to reinforce and form organizational and legislative frameworks, enhance their flexibility and make them more dynamic in keeping pace with the requirements of the smart era, and reviewed the most important opportunities that governments can benefit from to employ artificial intelligence tools and solutions to accelerate the process of preparing and reviewing policies and legislation and implementing them And measuring its impact, and enhancing its role in formulating future legislation that focuses on humans and serving societies.
