The CEO of Green Hydrogen Management at Masdar Company, Mohamed Abdel Qader Al Ramahi, revealed new expansions in the company’s projects in the field of green hydrogen, concentrated in Egypt and spreading from there to several countries in Africa.
Al Ramahi explained in a press conference held today, on the sidelines of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, that green hydrogen production is currently still in production stages that need to accelerate the development of technology despite huge investment promises by investors in the renewable energy sector around the world.
He said that Masdar has clear plans and announced projects, but the global market still faces many challenges in terms of quantities produced as well as prices.
He stated that there is a need to implement clear regulatory frameworks worldwide for hydrogen consumption in the industrial sector, pointing out that the UAE seeks to be the best in producing and exporting hydrogen, both in terms of quality and compliance with approved specifications, which require high cost and accuracy in productivity.
Al-Ramahi added that choosing Egypt to begin expanding in Africa and Europe is due to its distinguished location towards these destinations.
