The Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, Hamad Obaid Al -Mansouri, said: “Today we celebrate exceptional achievements of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center, which over the years has become an inspirational model for the space sector in the region, and a partner in the process of exploiting space and technology globally. The Director General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, Salem Hamid Al -Marri, said that the preparation of national cadres and investment in young talents is a basic pillar in the center’s strategy. It qualifies them to take into account future space missions, and enhances the state’s position in the field of manufactured tasks, after the astronaut Hazza Al -Mansouri and Dr. Sultan Al -Neyadi succeeded in running two tasks on the International Space Station, and achieving many scientific achievements.

He explained that more than 200 engineers and experts are working to develop innovative techniques in the field of space science and Earth’s monitoring, the last of which was the launch of the satellite “Mohammed bin Zayed Sat”, which is the most advanced in the region in terms of space photography techniques and data accuracy, and bears the name of His Highness the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him.

He stated that Mohammed bin Zayed Sat is the second satellite to be developed inside the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center with Emirati hands, after the artificial satellite Khalifa Sat, in addition to a series of satellites that were developed in cooperation with international partners.

He said: “Our borders did not stop at the Earth’s orbit, as our aspirations take us towards more, to explore the moon and beyond … Steps we started through the UAE project to explore the moon, and now we complete it through a new project, after announcing the joining of the UAE in 2024 to the project of developing the lunar space station, In partnership with Japan, the United States of America, the European Union and Canada, where we will take the task of developing the “Emirates Gate”, which is the unit of pressure on the station. A step that strengthens human presence on the surface of the moon, after the state succeeded in reaching Mars through the probe. “

He continued: “Over the course of 19 years, the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center has succeeded in achieving historical achievements that set the UAE’s position as an emerging power in the space sector.
