Al-Mulla stressed that his wife had a great role in shaping his personality and achieving many accomplishments, considering her the secret to his success, adding that cooking was his undeclared job.
Al Mulla is famous for writing poems for national occasions and weddings. He became the first Emirati poet to write, specialize in, and sell poetry for occasions. He was the first to develop the style of poetry to be recited at occasions and wedding parties, in addition to his professionalism in the art of cooking.
Al Mulla told Al-Emarat Al-Youm that he was born in Khorfakkan and lived in a simple environment. He grew up in a loving family, and his father used to go to sea constantly as he was a ship captain (Nukhoda). The sea was his daily companion, noting that school shaped his personality. He pointed out that after completing his secondary education at Al Khalil Bin Ahmed School, he joined the Fujairah Aviation Academy, and graduated with a diploma in civil aviation.
After graduating, Al-Mulla moved to work in a telephone services company (Emirates Call), but his love of poetry pushed him into the media field after an interview with him on Rotana Khalijiya Channel in 2008, where the channel manager offered him a job as a broadcaster. He was convinced by the idea and presented a comedy program for four years. He then worked on Hawas Channel for three months, and worked on Ajman Channel for four years. After that, he got a better opportunity on one of the channels, and he currently works on Ras Al Khaimah Radio (collaborator).
Al-Mulla said that he loves poetry and acquired his talent from his father, noting that he did not show much interest in poetry as much as he did in music. When he grew older, his talent for poetry developed and he decided to enter the poetry arena, continuing, “I became a professional poet in 2003, and I wrote several poems for occasions and weddings. There are poems that were sung by well-known artists locally and across the Arab world.”
He explained that there are poets whose news he is keen to follow continuously and permanently, most notably His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, noting that selling poems for occasions and weddings opened the doors for him to be more creative and innovative, indicating that he wrote about 900 poems for wedding occasions.
He pointed out that he aspires to present new poems that people will like, noting that he has resorted to filming video clips through his account on the social networking program “Snapchat” in which he recites daily poems and provides useful and valuable content that followers can benefit from, stressing that the optimal use of these programs has a positive impact on society.
Al-Mulla has loved cooking since he was five years old. His passion for cooking began when he accompanied his mother to the kitchen to learn from her. After two years, he was able to cook many meals. He even started to innovate and create different types of food. After he reached the age of thirteen, he became a professional cook. When he grew up, he cooked for occasions and banquets, and he was careful not to let people know about his hobby because he felt shy.
Al-Mulla continued that he was following cooking episodes on TV channels, but he noticed that professional chefs make many mistakes in the ingredients of the meals they prepare, noting that he decided to overcome his feeling of shyness and announce that he is a poet who loves cooking, and he sought to change people’s cultures about the art of cooking by filming videos about the ingredients and the correct way to prepare foods via his account on the “Snapchat” program.
Al-Mulla pointed out that the high rate of obesity among citizens made him invent new healthy meals that contribute to reducing the rate of obesity, and educating people about the meals that lead to obesity and make a person lose his health, saying: “I decided to film daily episodes via Snapchat on how to cook various healthy meals at home that do not cause obesity for people, and indeed it was met with great interest from the public.”
He pointed out that he received a proposal from the public to establish a home restaurant to order various meals, and after thinking about it, he decided to implement the proposal for a nominal amount, as he receives daily requests for several meals, including giant burgers, gazelle blood-colored rice, and turkey, stressing that he has invented 93 new dishes.
He added that he did not face any difficulties at the beginning of his life, especially in the practical and scientific fields, noting that his wife’s great support contributed to shaping his personality, which is characterized by vitality, love for others, working to make them happy, and keenness on self-development, career advancement, and innovation in all areas of life, stressing that “my wife’s support is the secret of my success.”
Al-Mulla has three children, the eldest of whom is Majed (14 years old) who loves sports and electronics, Maitha (13 years old) who is a pianist and painter and has a sense of humor, and the youngest of whom is Manal (12 years old) who excels in her studies, noting that he gives his children the freedom to choose their future life path and the specializations they wish to pursue.
