The heads of sports federations and officials confirmed that the 12th edition of the Nad Al -Sheba Sports Course achieved great technical and organizational successes, and established its position as the largest sporting event of its kind, which was launched and sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, and it is held annually during the blessed month of Ramadan, in the Nad Al -Sheba Sports Complex, with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, under the slogan “Border capabilities”.

They praised the course and its contribution to the development of Emirati sport and upgrading the level of athletes, by providing them with an opportunity to contact them with international athletes at high levels, and to compete in strong competitions in this period, which achieves many sports benefits, in addition to spreading sports, and attracting families to follow the championships.

Eng. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the UAE and Asian Federations for Fencing, said: “The Nad Al -Sheba Sports course has become a milestone in the Emirati sport agenda, and an annual president in the fencing federation calendar, thanks to the continuous development it is witnessing, and the increasing demand to participate in its competitions, which enhances its position as one of the largest community sporting events in the region.”

Sheikh Salem Al Qasimi pointed out that the participation of more than 80 players from 13 countries in the fencing competitions in the tournament reflects the advanced level that the championship reached, stressing the great technical and promotional impact that it achieved in expanding the base of participation in various sports, including fencing.

He explained that «by organizing the fifth edition of the fencing championship within the Nad Al -Sheba Sports course, which has a great fans, we succeeded in attracting the interest of many members of the community for this sport, and we received increasing requests to participate in it, and we were able to attract many cubs and young people to this ancient Olympic sport.

He pointed out that «the prestigious position of the course at the Arab, regional and international levels, in addition to the distinguished financial prizes, makes it an ideal destination for competition and sports development».

For his part, the President of the Emirates Athletics Federation, Major General Dr. Mohamed Al -Murr, stressed that «Nad Al -Sheba Sports session is a basic pillar in supporting and promoting athletics, as the running competitions on the road succeeded in attracting large numbers of participants from various nationalities, including Emiratis and residents. This success reflects the relevant efforts made by those in charge of the course to consolidate the culture of sport, and make it a way of life, with a focus on spreading and developing athletics, as it is one of the basic pillars of competitive sport.

The head of the flying feather federation, Noura Al Jasmi, confirmed the success of the flying feather competitions that were held within the activities of the 12th edition of Nad Al -Sheba Sports course, which witnessed a large participation of players and players from citizens and various nationalities residing in the country. She said: «The federation has completed two and a half years since its official publicity, and we included for the first time in the list of games in the Nad Al -Sheba sports course, we consider it the largest achievement for us, in addition to the important achievements that we have achieved during this short period.

Al -Jasmi explained that “the inclusion of flying feather within the schedule of the activities of the Nad Al -Sheba Sports session enhances the position of the game locally, and supports the Federation’s development plan, and the increase in the number of practitioners throughout the country.”

Al -Jasmi stressed that «the flying feather came out with several gains from the session, especially since this participation comes within the framework of the initiative (The Road to Los Angeles 2028), as the Federation aims to prepare Emirati players with the Olympic capabilities, and qualify them to participate in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
