The hotel market in Dubai witnessed the opening of 1,969 new luxury rooms within 10 months, bringing the total number of “five-star” hotel rooms to 53,778 rooms by the end of October 2024, compared to 51,809 rooms at the end of last year, according to data issued by the Department. Economy and tourism in Dubai.
According to the data, a copy of which was obtained by Emirates Today, the number of “five-star” hotel establishments increased from 157 establishments at the end of last year, to 168 establishments at the end of last October, at a rate that reached 11 new establishments within 10 months.
“Five-star” hotels account for 35% of the total size of the hotel market, with a capacity of more than 152.2 thousand rooms by the end of October 2024, and luxury “five-star” establishments recorded occupancy rates of 75% during the first 10 months of this year.
The Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai revealed the latest statistics on the performance of the tourism sector and the numbers of international visitors, which showed that the emirate attracted 14.96 million international tourists during the first 10 months of this year, compared to 13.9 million tourists during the same period last year, with a growth rate of about 8%.
