Opening the door for candidacy for the Fatima Bint Mubarak Prize for Women’s Sports

Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy for Women Sports, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, has announced the opening of the candidacy for the Fatima Bint Mubarak Women Sports Award in its ninth edition, under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak «Mother of the Emirates», Chairman of the General Women’s Federation, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairman of the Family Development Foundation, and with the support of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazaa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors Academy.

During a press conference held yesterday, in Abu Dhabi, the details of the award, which is the first of its kind in the region, and one of the most prominent awards in the Arab sports arena, where the candidacy continues until September 10, while the award ceremony will be held in November, and the value of the prizes is two million dirhams, distributed over 8 individual and group categories, in addition to the award of the “Arab Sports Year” award.

The Secretary -General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Aref Hamad Al -Awani, stressed that the award represents an extension of the support and empowerment of women in the sports field, indicating that the last version witnessed an increase in the number of requests to 258 requests, including 155 Emirati women, issued by the category of best Emirati athlete with 119 requests.

For her part, the head of the jury, Dr. Najwa Al -Hosani, thanked the “Mother of the Emirates” for her continuous support for women’s sport, praising the role of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan in enhancing the position of mathematics, stressing the importance of adhering to the conditions of candidacy, to ensure the integrity of the evaluation.
