Al-Emarat Al-Youm has learned that the technical staff of the national football team, led by Portuguese coach Paulo Bento, is currently coordinating with coaches and technical and administrative staff of local clubs to assess the physical and technical condition of the players, according to specific technical reports in this regard, in order to ensure that there are no injuries among the players, in preparation for selecting the new list for the team, which is expected to be announced before the end of this month. In addition, coach Bento is also working on developing technical plans that will ideally prepare the team to play the final round of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, with the expected gathering of the “Whites” approaching at the end of this month in Abu Dhabi, in preparation for the matches against Qatar and Iran on the fifth and tenth of next month, within the first and second rounds of Group One, which also includes the teams of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and North Korea.
Bento, with the help of the assistant technical staff and the administrative staff led by Yasser Salem, seeks to obtain more information about the teams he will face, especially the Qatari and Iranian teams, whether by watching some of the matches that each of them has recently played, via video tapes, or by directly monitoring and following the preparations of the two teams, and knowing the strengths and weaknesses in the ranks of each of them.
The team’s anticipated match against Qatar will be held in Doha, while the “Whites” will face their Iranian counterpart in the second round at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain.
