Saudi Arabia hosts the President’s Cup for Arabian horses

Today, Saudi Arabia is hosting the 14th leg of the President’s Cup series of races for purebred Arabian horses, in its 31st edition, at King Abdulaziz Square in Janadriyah in Riyadh.

The President’s Cup race series for Arabian horses is held with the support and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Office, based on his great keenness to develop the Arabian horse racing industry and support owners and breeders of Arabian horses in all countries of the world.

The race witnesses the participation of the elite of Arabian horses, and the Saudi station confirms the prestigious status of the precious cup, in light of the great keenness of owners, breeders and the best studs to participate and be present in the event, because of its great weight on the map of Arab horse racing around the world. The Saudi station also embodies the depth of relations. The history that brings the two countries together.

The President’s Cup race for Arabian horses is held for colts and fillies in the “Listed” category, classified as 90 and above, and aged four years and above, over a distance of 1,800 sandy metres. The race brings together a distinguished group of the best horses representing the elite of the studs. The list includes: Al-Harith, descended from (Al-Mamoun Munlu and Tamima). Hussein Ali Al-Adhiqi, and Ghazi Al-Zaman from the descendants of (Hilal Al-Zaman and Ghazwi) from the stables of Safwat Al-Adiyat. Mubariz Al-Khalidiya is a descendant of (Laith Al-Khalidiyah and Safinat Al-Khalidiyah) of the owner Bandar bin Hizam Al Hathlin, and Qaswara Al-Khalidiya is a descendant of (Laith Al-Khalidiya and Mustahila Al-Khalidiya) of the Khalidiya stables, along with “Sir Amer” by Sheikh Abdullah Hamoud Al-Malik Al-Sabah, Fazir of Ajmal Stable, and Pershosia Al-Ashai of the owner Khalaf. Bin Rabah Al-Shammari.

The Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee for the President’s Cup Race Series for Purebred Arabian Horses, Faisal Al-Rahmani, said: “With the guidance and support of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the State, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Office, the UAE has achieved a pioneering role in leading the precious Cup race series to achieve Important successes in all global arenas.”

He pointed out that “the Saudi station reflects the fraternal ties between the two countries, and we welcome the large participation of the elite owners, breeders and studs in Saudi Arabia, because it is an important indication of the status and value of the prestigious event among all Arabian horse owners in the world.”
