The handball team at Shabab Al-Ahly Club booked early the direct qualification ticket to the semi-finals of the Federation Cup competition, following its success, the day before yesterday, in clinching the top spot in the first group, by defeating its guest, Dibba Al-Hisn, with a score of (29-22), in Conclusion of the preliminary round.
The round also witnessed – for the first group itself – Maliha’s victory over its guest Al Wasl with a score of (23-21), while Al Sharjah won over its host Al Nasr by (31-24) in the second group.
Shabab Al-Ahly strengthened its lead in the group standings with nine points, grabbing the direct qualification card, while Maliha, runner-up with seven points, Dibba Al-Hisn third with five points, and Al-Wasl fourth with three points, will compete in the quarter-final matches.
For its part, Al-Sharjah topped the second group with six points, and in turn, along with the rest of the teams in the group, which is limited to three teams, went into the quarter-final matches, with Al-Nasr, the runner-up of the group, each with four points, and Al-Wahda, which had two points.
