Shixta line


The Persians wrote their ordinary letters and engraved decorations in a broken, colloquial script, which they called the Shakesta script. It is the oldest script to originate and be in circulation in Persia. Among the most famous Persian calligraphers in the 13th century AD was Muhammad ibn Ali al-Rawandi, and in the 14th century, Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Mahmoud al-Hamdhani.
