Space Pioneer Grant Al Warfen Endifor goes to an Emirati student team


The Arab Health Exhibition and Conference announced that the Emirati team “important 23” won a grant bearing the name of the astronaut Al Warfen Indere.

The winning Emirati team was revealed in a celebration held at the exhibition activities, which consists of four students and a teacher: Hamad Kano, Amna Mahmoud, Alia Al Shafar, Nora Al -Fardan, and Science teacher Haile Roberts from the Rebtton Dubai School.

The team is preparing to start a ten -day training trip in the United States of America, which will culminate in their visit to the American space camp and NASA at Huntville, Alabama.

The coronation ceremony was attended by Tom Calman, founder and CEO of the Individual grant, Salem Hamid Al -Marri, Director General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, in addition to Dr. Scott E Parazinski, a former astronaut at NASA, and Peter Hall, President of the Informa Markets in the Middle East, India and Turkey And Africa, and the ceremony was also honored by Martina Strong, US Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.


The Warden Endifor grant is a unique opportunity to give to students who are passionate about space and science, as this grant contributes to providing a rich and unique educational experience that gives participants opportunities to develop their skills and gain practical experiences within a diverse international environment and stimulate and serve as a bridge that links scientific dreams and practical realism in the field of space .

Tom Calman, CEO of the Endifor grant, said that this fourth mission of the United Arab Emirates, as it started with an idea in 2019 when he visited the UAE with the Warden family and the program was launched. In a minute selection process, the “Mission 23” team won the honor to obtain the grant after submitting a video for three minutes explaining the importance of the intersection of space and medicine and their leading ideas on this topic. The grant aims to highlight the commitment of the Arab Health Exhibition to combine education and innovation in the field of health sciences and space exploration.

The experiment includes two phases, starting with an introductory tour of the aviation and space industries in Washington, DC, followed by a week’s stay in the American space camp and NASA missile center. During the program, the team will participate in a series of intense exercises, including astronauts, engineering challenges, and team construction activities, and ends with a simulator space led by prominent astronauts such as Brigadier Charlie Duke, member of the Apollo 16 mission, Colonel Mike Bloomfeld, the pilot who has a NASA Three times.

Peter Hall stressed the importance of promoting scholarships in supporting the next generation of Emirati leaders, highlighting the unique opportunities to balance life sciences and explore space. Hall added that the Arab Health Exhibition and Conference seeks to expand the traditional vision of health care that has become more than hospitals and laboratories, as space exploration provides new visions of life sciences, human flexibility and medical innovation.


He pointed out that Emirati students will be at the forefront of efforts to enhance the scientific understanding and development of life. It is noteworthy that this scholarship, which was called in honor of the astronaut Apollo 15 Al Warden, for students interested in space, science and exploration the opportunity to participate in an overwhelming educational experience, which helps them build skills and gain practical experience in a diverse international environment.
