Taher said it… “Super Final” between Al-Ahly and Zamalek in Abu Dhabi

Al-Ahly set a date with Zamalek in the final match of the Egyptian Super Championship, next Thursday, in a repeat scenario of the African Super Cup that brought them together last September in Saudi Arabia, after defeating Ceramica Cleopatra 2-1, today, Sunday, at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Zamalek had qualified for the final stage by defeating Pyramids on penalties 5-4, after regular time ended in a positive draw 1-1.
It will be the fifth time that the two poles of Egyptian football will meet for the Super Cup title in the Emirates, after each team exchanged wins on two occasions.
Many Al-Ahly fans hoped to meet Zamalek in the local Super Cup final, to avenge the loss of the African Super Cup on penalties.
The coach of Al-Ahly, the Swiss, Marcel Kohler, and the coach of Zamalek, the Portuguese, will meet Jose Gomez for the fourth time in seven months, as Kohler succeeded in leading his team to victory over Zamalek in the Egypt Cup final with two unanswered goals, while the Portuguese coach returned the debt to the Al-Ahly coach on two occasions, the first in the league. He won by two goals, the second for the African Super Cup.

Al-Ahly – Ceramica

Al-Ahly entered its confrontation with Ceramica in the best possible scenario, as Taher Mohamed Taher scored the lead goal after 17 seconds, making it the fastest goal in the Egyptian Super Championship.

Ceramica gave a good performance and was a strong opponent for Al-Ahly in many times of the match, and even embarrassed them on more than one occasion, but the vigilance of the substitute goalkeeper, Mustafa Schubert, preserved Al-Ahly’s pass to the final match.

Zamalek – Pyramids
Zamalek struggled a lot to overcome the Pyramids obstacle, after the right back, Omar Gaber, was injured, forcing its coach to make adjustments to the lineup and plan of the match a few hours before its start.
Pyramids succeeded in advancing first through Ibrahim Adel after a perfect pass from Ramadan Sobhi, from which he shot to the right of the goalkeeper “14”.
