The field survey showed that the tea products packed in the UAE lead the trader in the local markets, some of which are due to Asian markets, most notably India and Sri Lanka, or to African countries such as Kenya, in addition to products of European origin.
Three types were exported, the highest price brands in the market, which included: organic products and “green Match tea” products, in addition to tea with special health specifications free of caffeine.
For their part, two specialists in the retail sector said that tea is one of the commodities that witness continuous popularity in the demand for the year, and it rises at different rates during seasons such as Ramadan and holidays.
Diversity

The survey revealed a great diversity in the countries of the origin of the tea commodity, topped by bottled products in the local market, in addition to products of Indian, Sri Lankan, Chinese, and Kenny products, in addition to imported types from Japan, Azerbaijan, Morocco, Egypt, and the United Kingdom, and several products imported from the European Union countries are also circulated.
Types of tea
The field survey also showed the availability of multiple types of tea, most notably: “black tea” or what is called “red”, which was fully exposed to its production operations, as it is the most prevalent, and it is available in multiple flavors in terms of density, including regular and strong tea, as well as the perfumed tea called “Earl Gray”, and the English breakfast tea “Brickvast” T », which is among the strongest in terms of flavor or the presence of caffeine ratios in it.
The markets also include products for “green tea”, which comes with different types of non -oxidized tea leaves, while species are traded in lower proportions for “white tea” products that are among the lowest types of tea processed and healthier, as they are characterized by many antioxidants.
The survey revealed that there are multiple flavors of tea in the market, including: mint, jasmine, cinnamon, saffron, thyme, apples, lemon, cardamom, ginger, wild fruit, orange, peaches, berries, and mango, in addition to the famous tea that is prepared according to the Moroccan method “Morokone T”, and herbal tea products on the Indian way “Masal”, and includes a mixture Hot spices, as well as “Karak Tea”, is a mixture of red tea, milk and some spices such as cloves.
Organic tea
The field survey also revealed that the most expensive price in the retail sales outlets of tea is due to “organic tea”, which is planted by relying on natural agricultural methods, without chemicals, whether with fertilizers or soil, in addition to the products of “Matchi tea”, which is prepared from the leaves of tea plant grown in the shadow for long periods and grinds before drying, and is characterized by increasing the material of chlorophyll in it compared to all types of tea, as The list of higher tea includes European products with caffeine -free health specifications.
The Japanese Green “Macha” tea package is a weight of 30 grams, for example, about 47 dirhams, while prices differ for each type of tea according to weight, the country of origin, the method of packaging, and the date of harvesting.

The sales official at the sales port, Mohamed Mansour, told «Emirates Today»: “Tea products are characterized by being one of the goods that witness a continuous demand throughout the year, but they may witness some relative price rises during seasons, such as Ramadan, Eid Al -Fitr and Al -Adha, or holiday seasons in general.”
For his part, Sony Vikas said: “Tea is one of the goods with high demand and great diversity in the markets, with different consumer habits for shoppers of different nationalities who depend on tea as a daily drink,” pointing out that this diversity stimulates many new brands to enter the local market.

Reports indicated that tea products support the improvement of the health of the digestive system, as tea is characterized by anti -bacterial properties, in addition to the presence of polyphenols that enhance the growth of beneficial bacteria in the intestine, which has been found to reduce the risk of disease, such as inflammatory bowel disease.
Eating tea in moderation reduces the risk of stroke, through the compounds included in tea of all kinds, and the activity of the hormone insulin increases more than 15 times laboratory.
