The technical director of the national teams, Dr. Mounir bin Al-Habib, revealed that the foreign professional duo in the Al-Bataeh team will join the internal gathering of the first team, in preparation for participating in the 34th edition of the Dubai International Championship, which begins next Friday at Al-Nasr Club Hall.
Bin Al-Habib told Emirates Al-Youm: “The joining of the duo Igram and Foster will give (Al-Abyad) additional options in strong confrontations that bring it together with an elite group of clubs across the continents of Asia and Africa.”
He explained: “The goal of the presence of the American duo lies in the ability to distribute the physical effort among the rest of the players, especially in the preliminary round, in addition to the (white) players adapting to different styles of play, as the Dubai Championship represents a preparation station before the important participation of the national team this month.” Next in the third and final window of the final stage of the Asian qualifiers for the 2025 Asian Cup.
He added: “We are making sure that the national team players do not fall under heavy physical loads, and that they are not exposed to any possible injuries before the confrontations between Syria and Lebanon on February 22 and 25, through which we aspire to maintain (Al-Abyad’s) hopes of qualifying for the Asian Championship.”
He concluded: “The team’s focus in the Dubai Championship is on diversity in game plans and giving all (white) members the opportunity to participate.”
