The beach football team begins its career in the Asian Cup, confronting Afghanistan tomorrow


The UAE beach soccer team will start its career in the 11th edition of the Asian Beach Football Cup by facing the Afghanistan team tomorrow in the third group competitions, in the tournament that starts today in Pattaya, Thailand.

16 teams will compete in 4 groups, where the first two teams from each group qualify to the quarter -finals, while the first three teams in the tournament are seats in the Beach FIFA World Cup to be held in Seychelles from 1 to 11 May.

The UAE team is playing its matches in the third group, which also includes the teams of Afghanistan, Indonesia and Iran.
The team prepared under the leadership of its Brazilian coach, Victor Vasquez, through internal and external camps, and concluded its preparations with a camp in Thailand, which included two friendly matches, during which he won over the teams of Thailand and China.

This is the tenth participation of the UAE team in the Asian Beach Football Cup finals, where he previously won the title in 2007 and 2008, and in his last participation in 2023 he ranked third, and is currently ranked sixth in the world rankings.

As for the Afghanistan team, it participates for the fifth time in the tournament, and has never exceeded the group stage.
