The Council of Ministers has adopted a project to issue the first legislation of its kind for both gender salaries.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, directed the adoption of the law of equality in wages and salaries between the gender in the country to emphasize the provision of full opportunities for women to prove itself as a partner for men in consolidating the pillars of the comprehensive renaissance and to activate women’s participation in the development process .
The Cabinet’s adoption of the draft law on equality in wages and gender salaries comes within the framework of promoting national policies and legislation to ensure the protection of women’s rights and support their role and believing in the main role of women in the national development process in line with the national strategy to empower women for the years 2015-2021 which was launched by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said that the UAE has realized since its inception under the leadership of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul”, the importance of establishing the pillars of gender balance and the resulting positive social and economic effects.
His Highness added that the UAE is a pioneer in the involvement of women in the development process since the founding of the union … while the law of equality in salaries comes as a complement to this march … saying, “We look forward to a prosperous future for the homeland … women have presented an influential role that enhances national trends and our ambitious vision of the future.”
