The Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi announces the change of the name of Al Asayel Street to Al Nakhwa Street

The Department of Municipalities and Transport announced the change of the name of “Al-Asayel Street” in Khalifa City to “Al-Nakhwa Street”, coinciding with the third anniversary of the blatant Houthi march attack on January 17, 2022, according to what was published by the official website of the Abu Dhabi Media Office.

The name “chivalry” refers to chivalry, chivalry, and the ability to endure difficulties in order to help others, which is the role that the UAE played in confronting the Houthis.

“Al Nakhwa Street”, formerly known as “Al Asayel Street”, is one of the most important and vital main streets in Khalifa City in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It extends over six kilometers starting from Al Forsan Street, and intersects with several main streets in the city, including Dhiyab Bin Issa Street and Al Bandar Street.

“Al-Nakhwa Street” is distinguished by its beautiful design and cosmetic plantings on both sides, and it witnesses a large number of visitors, as it extends from Al-Forsan International Sports Resort to Masdar City.

The Houthis had launched a drone attack on January 17, 2022, which resulted in a fire and explosion in three fuel tanks in the Musaffah area, and a minor fire incident occurred in the construction area of Abu Dhabi International Airport (currently Zayed International Airport).

The attack led to the death of three people, and the wounding of six others, ranging from minor to moderate injuries.
