Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, President of the UAE Football Association, congratulated the national team and its fans on the occasion of its victory over its Qatari counterpart by three goals in the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, praising the efforts of the technical and administrative staff and the performance of the players, stressing that the Football Association is putting all its capabilities at the service of the national team.

During his attendance and follow-up of the match at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Doha, the Federation President appreciated the role of the UAE football fans, who continued to motivate the players and supported them in the stands.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak said: “The positive result of the first match is an important milestone for our national team in the qualifiers, and we must build on it and fortify it with new points in order to strengthen our position from the start.”

He added that the match with the Iranian team, which will be held next Tuesday at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain, requires more focus and dedication, because its importance is no less than the importance of the first round match, stressing that the Football Association is putting all its capabilities at the service of the national team, especially in this sensitive stage of the qualifiers, calling for turning the page on the first match after benefiting from its lessons.
