The Football Association supports the “VAR” with a foreign referee in the league

A source confirmed to Emirates Today that the Football Association has contracted with foreign referees to support video referee technology (VAR) and to participate in managing the ADNOC Professional League matches.

The source said that these referees have already begun participating in managing the league matches, as Ovidiu Hategan participated as a video referee during the match between Dibba Al-Hisn and Al-Jazira in the fifth round, while the match was managed by arena referee Mohammed Al-Harmoudi, and Fernando Rapalini participated in the same round as a referee for the match between Al-Nasr and Ajman teams, which he led. The arena referee is Hamad Ali Yousef, while referee Elin Borosak participated in the Kalba Ittihad match with Al-Bataeh, which was officiated by arena referee Yousef Al Jasmi, and the match witnessed Al Wasl and Khor Fakkan, with Daniele Doveri participating as a video referee in the same round as well.

In the sixth round, referee Angel Monroy appeared as a video referee in the match between Al Ain and Dibba Al Hisn, which was led by arena referee Nasser Al Ali, and Fabio Oliveira participated as a video referee in the match between Al Wahda and Ittihad Kalba in the sixth round, while the match was led by arena referee Omar Al Ali, while Asmir Saqer participated. Kovic was a video referee in the match between Al Orouba and Baniyas, which was officiated by Sultan Mohammed Saleh as the arena referee.
