The inauguration of Al Mairid Street in Ras Al Khaimah the day after tomorrow

Head of the Operations Department at the Public Works Department in Ras Al Khaimah, Karam Al Balushi, said, “The department has completed about 95% of the work on Al Muairid Street up to the fish market, and the road will be opened to vehicles next Saturday.”

He added to Emirates Today that more than two kilometers were paved and two lanes were identified on each road during the first phase of construction of the road, in addition to preparing more than 200 parking lots for vehicles in front of commercial stores, considering that Al-Muairid Street is one of the most important roads and main streets in the emirate, because it It connects the city center to the vital and commercial areas of the emirate.

He pointed out that the department has developed a comprehensive study over the past months in coordination with the owners of the shops in which bulldozing and construction work is being carried out in front of their shops, aiming to open side roads to keep the shops operating and prevent them from being exposed to financial losses due to the construction work.

He explained that parking lots had been prepared in front of all the shops on the street in an organized manner according to the highest international standards, and through preparing a prior study to avoid any narrowness in the road or traffic congestion.

He continued that the new street will facilitate traffic from the Al-Maairid area to the fish market, and will reduce the occurrence of congestion and traffic congestion from Al-Jisr Street towards the fish market, explaining that vehicles can go to the fish market from Al-Maairid Street after the completion of construction of the road. He pointed out that the work of the first phase of road construction has been completed and the other lane of the road will be reconstructed after the completion of the next Eid Al Fitr holiday, explaining that the department has developed a plan to accelerate road construction work in various regions of the emirate with the aim of facilitating traffic and providing the best services to the emirate’s residents. .
