The Ministry of Education launches the “My School, My Identity” competition


The Ministry of Education launched the “My School, My Identity” competition, the largest art competition at the level of government schools in the country, with the aim of highlighting the creativity of students and teachers in decorating their schools and transforming them into artistic paintings that express the values ​​of Emirati culture, the UAE’s heritage and its ancient history.

The Minister of Education, Sarah bint Youssef Al Amiri, explained that the competition aims to enable students and teachers to put their creative fingerprints in the corridors of their schools and participate in designing them in a way that is consistent with the culture of the UAE and its ancient civilizational heritage, noting that the Ministry seeks to provide a stimulating and attractive educational environment for students that supports them. in their educational journey and encourages them to achieve their future aspirations.

Improving the quality of the educational system

She stressed that the Ministry works periodically to launch various competitions, initiatives and programs targeting all aspects of students’ educational journey in a way that supports its efforts to improve the quality of the outputs of the national educational system, by adopting innovative educational methodologies that meet the aspirations of students and teachers and allow them the opportunity to express, refine, develop and translate their talents on the ground. reality in innovative ways.

For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Engineer Muhammad Al-Qasim, explained that the competition will contribute to improving the quality of life of students in government schools and will work to consolidate the values ​​of teamwork and innovation between students and teachers through their work as a team to implement innovative designs for their schools, indicating the Ministry’s keenness to embody The spirit of excellence, creativity and perseverance among students and teachers in their schools and the celebration of their valuable artistic works.

A set of standards

The Ministry has set a set of criteria on the basis of which the winning schools will be selected in the competition, such as highlighting the works that represent the national identity and the values ​​of authentic Emirati culture, the purposeful educational and pedagogical messages provided by the works, the accuracy and quality of the designs, the creativity and innovation in the ideas presented, and working in a team spirit among the students. teachers, and efficiency in carrying out work.

The Ministry also specified the technical terms and conditions, security, health and safety conditions, safety of school facilities, and school facilities within which artistic works and designs can be implemented.

The Ministry worked to form a jury that includes experts from several entities, in addition to a number of Emirati artists, along with specialists from the Ministry of Education, who will sort and judge the entries and consider the extent of their compliance with the terms and standards of the competition, in preparation for selecting the winning schools in the first ten places within the competition.

The Ministry has allocated a number of financial prizes that will be awarded to the top ten places in the competition. The prize for the first-place winning school will be 100,000 dirhams, 70,000 dirhams for the second-place winning school, and 50,000 dirhams for the third-place winning school, while the winning schools will receive Fourth to tenth place receives 25,000 dirhams for each school. The Ministry also set January 20, 2025 as the first day for receiving entries, and March 28 as the last date for receiving works participating in the competition.
