The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology launched the second edition of the National Professional Program, aimed at building the capabilities of young national competencies in the areas of measurement and assessment of conformity, in the presence of the Director General of the Federal Youth Foundation, Khaled Al -Nuaimi, the Assistant Undersecretary for the Standardization Affairs Sector, Dr. Farah Al -Zarouni, and the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industrial Development Sector in the Ministry, Salama Al -Awadi.
This came during the organization of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology Council in Dubai, in cooperation with the Federal Youth Foundation, on Friday evening in Dubai, the Ramadan Assembly Initiative for Youth Councils entitled: “A youth vision for an innovative industrial future”, and a discussion episode for graduates of the professional youth program, which dealt with empowering Emirati youth in the field of quality infrastructure.
In turn, Dr. Farah Ali Al -Zarouni stated that “the National Young Professional Program supports the development and development of young citizenship cadres working in the electricity, energy or fields (electrical) fields.”
She referred to «Emirates Today», on the sidelines of the meeting, that “it is expected that the requests will be started during the coming period in the first quarter of this year, as the program will allow the selection of citizen cadres of young people in sectors specialized in electricity and energy, and support their capabilities and qualify them to choose the appropriate staff to represent the Emirates in the international electrical and technical organization in the seat of a young leader from the Middle East and Asia.”
She explained that «the UAE is leading globally in the number of times the successive victory with the title of (Asia and the Middle East) in the youth professional program for the International Electrology Committee for five times, the first of which was in 2015, then four times for years in a row from 2021 until 2024.
She added that «the program will provide the selection of citizenship cadres that are qualified and in a manner that supports its work, and various local and international institutions, in the electrical sectors,” pointing out that “the program is related to the initiative (made in the Emirates) because it represents a general umbrella for cadres working in supply and supply chains in different sectors, including areas related to electricity and energy.
She said that «the UAE has become the first Arab country to win the membership of the Board of Directors of the International Electric Technology Committee, after obtaining membership for the period (2025-2027), after it reaped the consensus of the votes of member states during the general assembly meeting held last November,” pointing out that “the membership of the state represented by the membership of the Board of Directors in the ICRC comes a reflection of the continuous efforts made by the state and the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in the infrastructure system For quality, and its various initiatives to develop standard specifications and conformity systems and programs, as the UAE plays a vital role in supporting the work of the ICRC, which includes under its umbrella more than 170 countries.
Al -Zarouni said, “The UAE puts young people at the heart of the national development strategy, and in line with the directives of the high leadership in the ministry, the empowerment of young people in the field of quality infrastructure is a basic pillar to enhance national capabilities in the field of measurement, competitiveness and support for the future, especially the quality infrastructure sector that includes the areas of specifications, conformity, accreditation, standards, and control of markets.”
Khaled Al -Nuaimi affirmed the commitment of the UAE to provide all the tools necessary to give young people opportunities to improve their skills and capabilities, according to the directions of the national agenda of youth 2031 aimed at being the most prominent model in the various fields of national priorities, pointing to the firm belief that young people are the axis of development and the basis of innovation, and that building qualified national cadres is an essential part of the strategy of paying the growth wheel, And establish the supports of a prosperous and sustainable society.
